Sam Goulden

As a software engineer and leader, I’ve spent over 10 years building high-performance applications and data-driven solutions for companies such as Uswitch, Motorway, and IBM. My focus has always been on creating efficient, scalable systems using a wide range of technologies.

I’ve always been interested in creating top-tier tools that solve real-world problems. When I saw the problems faced by sellers such as Iron Mills regarding inventory management, I knew that there was an opportunity to improve the situation, particularly for those who stake their livelihoods on their all-important businesses, and margins are ever-so-important.

That’s what led me to co-found Forecastly, I saw an opportunity to apply my focus on creating data-driven applications to a real world problem and solve this for many sellers out there.

I’m the owner of a successful Shopify store, Iron-Mills, where I’ve grown a premium e-commerce brand from the ground up. Along the way, one of the biggest challenges I faced was forecasting — knowing how much stock to order, when to reorder, and how to scale without overcommitting or running out.

That’s what inspired me to co-found Forecastly — a tool built specifically for e-commerce businesses to manage inventory and predict demand with confidence.

I’m a trained engineer, now working in finance at Rolls-Royce, where I combine technical thinking with financial modelling every day. Forecastly brings together everything I’ve learned across both industries to help other store owners plan smarter and grow sustainably.
